Ferrari SF90 Spider: Unleashing 1000 HP in a Thrilling Driving Test
Experience the Power: Ferrari SF90 Spider with 1000 HP
Get ready to be blown away by the exhilarating driving test of the Ferrari SF90 Spider, equipped with a mind-boggling 1000 horsepower.
As the successor to the LaFerrari, the SF90 takes the crown as Ferrari's flagship model. It's also their first-ever plug-in hybrid, making it a true marvel of engineering. While purists might be sceptical about the rise of hybrid powertrains, I assure you, this one will change your mind.Embracing Technological Innovation
In an era where electric cars dominate the streets, traditional sports cars face an uncertain future. However, the SF90 proves that progress and innovation go hand in hand. Having driven other performance plug-in hybrids, including the Porsche and AMG models, I can attest to the magic that happens when electric power combines with a potent combustion engine.
Even with just the V8 engine, the SF90 would be impressive. With a displacement of almost 4 litres and twin turbos, it produces a staggering 780 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Revving up to 8,000 RPM is a breeze, thanks to Ferrari's lightning-fast eight-speed DCT gearbox.
But that's not all. The SF90 comes with not one, but three electric motors. A 204-horsepower motor sits between the gearbox and the engine, while two 135-horsepower motors power the front wheels. Combined with the V8, the total system power reaches a jaw-dropping 1000 horsepower.
With a battery capacity of 7.9 kWh, the SF90 can travel emission-free for up to 25 kilometres. It's worth noting that this is also Ferrari's first-ever front-wheel-drive car. And yes, you might be wondering about the two fuel tank valves, but one of them is for charging the battery.
Pure Performance, Unmatched Thrills
The SF90's performance is simply mind-blowing. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a lightning-fast 2.5 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in just 7 seconds. With a top speed exceeding 340 km/h, it's a supercar that can effortlessly hit 300 km/h on an open highway. But what truly sets the SF90 apart is the symphony of sound it creates. While the Tesla Model S Plaid and Rimac Nevarra might be faster, they lack the soul-stirring roar of the V8 engine.
Of course, the hybrid powertrain adds some weight, but it also contributes an additional 220 horsepower. With a weight of 1,670 kg, comparable to a 911 Turbo, the SF90 boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 1.67 kg/hp.
Unveiling the Spider PHEV
When it comes to convertible roofs, Ferrari has mastered the art of engineering excellence. The SF90 Spider features an aluminium folding roof, which takes just 14 seconds to open or close. It's a seamless transition that adds only around 40 kg to the car's weight. With a storage capacity of 74 litres, there's enough space for essentials, but not much more.
The SF90 Spider: Comfort Meets Performance
Contrary to popular belief, modern Ferraris are surprisingly comfortable. The SF90 Spider, with its Bumpy Road setting, filters out road imperfections
