Koenigsegg Breaks Rimac's Brand New Record in Epic Showdown

Koenigsegg, the Swedish automotive manufacturer, has reclaimed a world record from Rimac in an exhilarating sprint from zero to 400 km/h and back. Just a month ago, Rimac set 23 records, overshadowing Koenigsegg's achievements. However, Koenigsegg has now retaliated by snatching back at least one record.

The specific record in question is the sprint from zero to 400 kilometres per hour and then back to zero. Koenigsegg's Regera had held this record since 2019, completing it in 31.49 seconds. Rimac's Nevera recently surpassed it with a time of 29.94 seconds.

Determined to reclaim their title, Koenigsegg sought a circuit with smoother and tighter asphalt. They also fitted the Regera with new Michelin Cup2R tires and upgraded brakes. The result was astounding: a new record time of 28.81 seconds.

Impressively, Koenigsegg managed to enhance their own world record using a car that was conceived and developed ten years ago. It's worth noting that the press release doesn't mention Rimac directly, focusing solely on Koenigsegg reclaiming their position as record holders.

To achieve this feat, Koenigsegg selected Örebro Airport, located west of Stockholm, which offered the required asphalt conditions for their record attempt. The airport's runway, measuring 3274 meters in length, proved to be sufficient for Koenigsegg's purpose. It remains to be seen if Rimac will accept the challenge or if another brand will step up to compete in this thrilling race.

The similarity between the names of the two cars, Regera and Nevera, seems coincidental. However, the word "Regera" translates to "rule" in Swedish, aligning with Koenigsegg's determination to reclaim their record.

For Koenigsegg's founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg, this record holds great significance. It showcases the extreme performance capabilities of the car in every aspect. The Regera continues to surprise and astonish the automotive world, proving that its timeless design, engineering, and technology were far ahead of its competitors. Christian von Koenigsegg expresses immense pride in this accomplishment.

We eagerly await Rimac's response and whether they will take up the challenge. Perhaps another brand will also join this competition. Rest assured, as soon as a car breaks the current record, you will find out about it here. For now, enjoy the images of this thrilling record-breaking attempt.
