Raleigh Unleashes the Legendary Chopper: A Retro Ride for a New Generation!

In a blast from the past, Raleigh is bringing back the iconic Chopper bike that took the '70s by storm. Originally introduced in 1969, the Chopper captured the hearts of a generation, and now, over 50 years later, it's making a triumphant return to the streets.

The 2023 reincarnation of the Chopper stays true to its roots, instantly recognizable with its signature larger rear wheel, three-speed hub gears, and high-rise U-shaped handlebars. Raleigh has even gone the extra mile to replicate the original brakes, ensuring an authentic riding experience. To complete the nostalgic vibe, the Chopper is available in two throwback color options: Infra Red and Ultra Violet.

To recreate the Chopper faithfully, Raleigh utilized 3D scans of the 1973 MK2 model. The result is a Cr-Mo steel frame that closely matches the original, albeit with some necessary modifications to meet modern safety standards. The frame is now stronger, while the sissy bar and one-piece saddle have been slightly adjusted, though only true enthusiasts would notice the difference.

Weighing in at 18.4kg, the Chopper is a sturdy ride that relies solely on pedal power, devoid of any batteries or electric motors. It's a chance to relive the old days, embracing the sheer joy of propelling oneself forward.

The Chopper achieved legendary status during the '70s and even made memorable appearances in classic '80s films like The Goonies. Although its popularity waned in the '90s, it still holds a special place in the hearts of many. If you happen to have an original Chopper tucked away in your garage, Raleigh has reissued a range of compatible parts for both the original and the remake. From the bar and stem to the saddle, pedals, sissy bar, and grips, you can restore your vintage beauty to its former glory.

The first batch of the limited-edition reissue has already sold out, but fear not! You can sign up to receive notifications for when the next batch becomes available. In the meantime, it gives you an opportunity to save up the £950 asking price, ensuring you're ready to hit the road in retro style when the time comes. Don't miss out on this chance to relive the glory days with the Raleigh Chopper, a timeless symbol of cool and a must-have for any bike enthusiast.
