Unleashing the Extreme: Introducing the Ferrari SF90 XX - A Road-Racer Phenomenon

Ferrari is introducing the 2024 SF90 XX, a track-focused variant of its plug-in hybrid supercar. The SF90 XX takes inspiration from Ferrari's track-only specials and aims to enhance performance while providing confidence to the driver to push the car to its limits. The car features an aggressive aerodynamic package, including a fixed rear spoiler, Gurney flap system, and S-ducts in the reworked front end, resulting in 20% more downforce than the standard SF90. The aerodynamic improvements also contribute to the car's improved cooling performance, allowing for an additional 30bhp compared to the regular SF90.

The combined outputs of the twin-turbocharged V8 engine and electric motors reach 1016bhp and 593 lb-ft. The SF90 XX also introduces an "extra boost" system derived from Ferrari's Formula 1 program, providing short bursts of acceleration. The car's Qualifying mode activates this system, offering additional power from the electric motors at the corner exit. The SF90 XX can reach 62mph from a standstill in just 2.3 seconds and has improved stopping power with redesigned brakes and an ABS-Evo system.

The exhaust system has been reworked to produce a fuller sound, and the car's lap time at the Fiorano test track will be announced later this year. The production of the SF90 XX is limited, with Ferrari planning to build 599 SF90 XX Spiders and 799 SF90 XX Stradale coupes. As expected, the Stradale version of the SF90 XX has already been sold out, and deliveries are set to begin in the second quarter of 2024.

In addition to its performance enhancements, the 2024 Ferrari SF90 XX also showcases several design updates. The car features a flash orange paint scheme inspired by the electrical cabling in its plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Stradale version of the SF90 XX comes in a coupe form, while the Spider version offers an open-top driving experience.

Inside the SF90 XX, Ferrari has implemented the lightest seats ever fitted to one of their vehicles, further enhancing the car's overall weight reduction. The interior maintains a sporty and luxurious feel, with advanced technology and high-quality materials.

While the SF90 XX was not originally part of Ferrari's plan for the flagship supercar, it has been introduced to push the boundaries of performance even further. According to Enrico Galliera, Ferrari's marketing chief, the SF90 XX is designed for enthusiasts who desire an extreme driving experience both on the road and on the track.

Ferrari enthusiasts and collectors alike eagerly await the announcement of the SF90 XX's lap time at the Fiorano test track, which will further solidify its position as one of the most extreme road-going Ferraris ever produced. The SF90 XX represents a combination of cutting-edge technology, aerodynamic advancements, and enhanced power, making it an exhilarating machine for those seeking an unparalleled driving experience.
