Mercedes Benz is auctioning an original DTM Racing Car

If the normal E class don't impress you much and you wish to make it quicker to work Christie 's might have the answer for you and you still have enough time to take part in the car auction of the year.

Mercedes-Benz will auction one of its original racing cars from the DTM, the German Touring Car Championships, to benefit the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. The Christie's auction will close on April 4.

The automaker said the minimum bid on the vehicle is €300,000. Bidders must send an e-mail to laureus-dtm@daimler.com to request a bidder card. (any one willing to lend me his laptop?)

Gary Paffett won the DTM race last year in the Laureus AMG Mercedes C-Class. The hood alone is a standout, with autographs from Boris Becker and Niki Lauda.

The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children get a "more positive outlook on life through sport," was co-founded by Daimler.
